Storage and backups

Relational data is stored in MySQL/MariaDB. Uploaded attachment and profile avatar files are stored on disk below the service working directory. A database-only backup is incomplete: preserve the uploads/ and relevant profile upload files as well.

The service creates the uploads/ directory when it receives an attachment. Ensure the process has write permission and that deployment restores the same relative path.
